Monograms in Central Park

It's Hump Day!!!

I have been so MIA from the blog world, but I'm finally starting to feel like myself again. As you already know Dr. D and I went on a trip to NYC he won on the Price is Right two weeks ago (read post here). The moment I landed at LAX I went to check my work email account and had so many unread messages it made my head spin! Working in Entertainment PR and leaving for a week during prime season in October is definitely a mistake I will NOT be making again!

I must give a shout out to the best man/photographer in my life ... DR. D!

Times Square Leopard

Happy Monday Y'all!

My work schedule has me completely swamped so this post will be short and sweet. During our NYC trip I definitely wanted to try out my first set of "night" photos. I figured what better place to try and capture these than the infamous Times Square?  I think the photos turned out great, but to tell you the truth I was more excited for the chance to wear my Ralph Lauren coat. It was finally chilly enough to bust it out!

New York City Continued ...

Sunday afternoon we hopped off the helicopter and headed straight to Wall Street. I was so excited to see all the "tourist" stops and the famous Merill Lynch bull from Hitch.

IMG_6141IMG_6144IMG_6145Trinity Church was simply stunning!

We relaxed after our busy morning and headed to Times Square for drinks with friends. Never did it cross my mind that this area of town is pretty much the Hollywood Blvd. of NYC; however we had a great time
IMG_6156IMG_6161IMG_6164IMG_6168IMG_6188Monday we headed over to Rockafeller Center again
IMG_6190
Followed by a walk around Central Park then drinks with a college friend near Chelsea. This arch reminded me too much of Paris so I had to get a picture with it even if it is low quality!IMG_6219
Tuesday was our last day in the city and it was completely GORGEOUS! The entire trip had called for rain and it only rained the first day we were there. Great for the trip, bad for my wardrobe since I didn't pack any dresses or flip flops ... whoops!IMG_6257IMG_6253IMG_6260IMG_6265IMG_6266
Seeing the leaves change color reminded me of back home. It's something I genuinely miss but I wouldn't give up year round sunshine for anything! I could have spent all day in Central Park so when we passed by the checkers games I couldn't resistIMG_6268
We went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner before we went and saw Wicked. It was such a phenomenal play and had me completely entranced. I mean come on check out that set!

We had great seats in the middle of the orchestra so we were right in the middle of all the magic and excitement. I loved our trip to NYC and although I have officially been converted to a Cali girl, it was nice to head back to the East coast for a bit!

Trip to New York City!

I'm baaack! Dr. D's and my trip to NYC was completely chaotic, fun and exhausting. We met up with friends, I met his family for the first time, ate WAY too much food and walked until I thought my legs were going to fall off. Since I had never been to New York before it was an experience to put it in a word. I love the city, but it made me appreciate sunny Los Angeles more than ever!

We arrived Thursday evening and instantly got an entire NY pizza. It was inhaled with some Landshark and man it was tasty! We met up with our college friend Griffin afterwards who works on Food Network's Chopped. Hearing some of the BTS stories completely made our night .

Friday was "our" day. Unfortunately it rained the entire day and not a SINGLE photo was taken. I'm still completely devastated with myself for not busting out my camera once!

Saturday was an extremely busy. I met Dr. D's parents for the first time and things went extremely well! First we toured the Empire State Building which had the most glorious views of the city and extremely high winds!

IMG_6080IMG_6083Then we took a quick trip over to Rockafeller Center. It was opening day on the infamous ice skating rink!

One quick subway ride later and we're on Coney Island!
IMG_6096IMG_6099
Dr. D made a fuss about "The Cyclone" so naturally we made him and his brother ride it

After Coney Island we went back to Manhattan and ventured over to the 9/11 Memorial
IMG_6107 IMG_6109IMG_6113
The "Survivor Tree" is the only one to survive the 9/11 attacks

Did I mention the new Freedom Tower is GORGEOUS?

Sunday morning we got to go on our helicopter ride and were both really excited! It may have only been 20 minutes long but we got to see some pretty mesmerizing views!

IMG_6119 IMG_6140
We got to sit right up front!
IMG_6137IMG_6125IMG_6130IMG_6131IMG_6134
Central park is MASSIVE!

We spent the afternoon in Bowling Green and Wall Street but I'll write more about that and the rest of the vacation in tomorrow's post!
