LACMA, Stripes and Spots Oh My!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

This week has already been a whirlwind and it's only Tuesday ... lord help me survive Oscar season!
Be on the look out for a great post this Friday on how to throw an AWESOME at home viewing party and be eating/drinking exactly what all your favorite celebrities are indulging on!

 - But back to the present -

I'm honestly so excited for this post! My girlfriend Dana has been wanting to test her photography game for quite a while now; however, our schedules just conflicted -- until this weekend. I got my hair done (WAY overdue) and knew this was the perfect opportunity to not only show off my new blow out, but to also let Dana work her magic. Let me tell y'all she didn't disappoint!
This is definitely my new favorite outfit!
I love a good black and white combo, but add in a print mix with some glitz and I am an ecstatic girl
Between knowing all the settings on her camera, where the perfect lighting was and the directions she gave me on how to pose -- I literally was overwhelmed and felt like a superstar!

Thanks again to Dana you completely rocked this shoot!

This week's featured blogger is Rebecca from Red Tag Chic Los Angeles!
I absolutely adore Rebecca! She's not only one of the sweetest girls I've come across in blog land, but her style is seriously killer y'all. She rocked her navy Wallis coat and those red pumps? I'd break both my ankles if I walked in a heel that high but she looks nothing short of fierce!
Hope to cross paths with you one day in LA pretty girl!

East vs West Coast: Winter White

Happy Thursday Dolls!

I'm so excited to announce a fun project I have been wanting to do for quite some time now. When I started my blog a year ago I kept seeing all kinds of fun collaborations between bloggers and kept telling myself, "One day you'll get there".

One of the first bloggers I encountered was Laura from Laura Lily at WWD Magic in Las Vegas. I would read her blog daily (and still do), but one post kept catching my eye, "East vs West Coast Style". Seeing as how I moved here from South Carolina I knew I wanted to befriend an East coast blogger who's style would not only be spot on, but a girl who would in a small way remind me of back home. Along came Pamela from Sequins and Seabreezes, my new blogger pal who was the perfect fit for such a fun collab!
Pamela's a Florida gal who's year round tan and great style immediately caught my attention. We started emailing back and forth and not only was she using the same key words I do (love, doll, babe, etc). she had the quirkiest personality I have ever come across! We've only been e-mailing for a few short weeks but I feel like I've known her for years.

We decided to make this a monthly collab, so check back every 3rd Thursday of the month so we can share how the East and West coast wears a trend. To kick things off we're talking Winter White!

Even though it's Winter, Los Angeles doesn't really believe in that so I went with a white dress and a cream blazer. I added some glitz and color with my necklace and a fun snakeskin shoe to kick it up a notch!
I can't be the only one who rocks a sock bun on a bad hair day right?!
Dress: Forever 21 // Blazer: Kenor via TJ Maxx // Necklace: Prep Obsessed // Shoes: Target // Sunnies: Rayban // Earrings: Versona // Rings: Pandora and Steinmart

Bohemian Stylish Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

I apologize for being a little MIA last week, my work schedule has really picked up and I had to put blogging on the back burner, but this week will be better I promise!

Over the weekend Dr. D and I celebrated Valentine's Day and it was so nice to just relax and spend some quality time together. We've been in a long distance relationship for almost 2 years and while it's hard ... it's so worth it.

One day we'll live in the same town, hopefully sooner rather than later!
Dr. D and I are still getting used to the photo settings on my Canon T3i Rebel --- but I really love the way the light made this Bohemian-esque outfit look
The photos felt a little too serious for me so I threw in a funny shot just for kicks :)

This week's featured blogger is Oby from Only Be You!

Her outfit simply screamed Valentine's Day and was too chic for words. I love how at first glance it looks like a dress, but turns out to be a crop top and fun skirt. The strappy black heels completely brought the look together. You look fabulous Oby!

St. Valentine's Day

Happy Friday Lovelies!

It's the most romantic day of the year and I didn't write a blog post for it. Shame on me!

My work load has me overwhelmed with Oscars right now but I wanted to wish everyone the happiest Valentine's Day!

Eat lots of chocolate, take in the aroma of fresh flowers all around you and make sure to have a drink tonight

For all the single ladies out there who are wanting to jump off a cliff  right now ... back away! Valentine's Day doesn't have some unwritten rule that you have to spend it with one special person -- so grab your best girlfriends, or friend group and party the freakin' night away. It is Friday after all!

Comfy Sweaters & Stylish Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

Holy crap when did it become the week of Valentine's Day? Wasn't it just yesterday that we were counting down and watching the ball drop? January always comes and goes for me every year, but I feel like the rest of 2014 has gone by in a blink as well!

Anywho ... over the weekend I went to a UCLA gymnastics meet with some of my alumni sorority sisters and had a freakin' blast! I totally fan-girled over Jordyn Weiber and Sam Peszek and shamefully took photos of them via Instagram which I was too lame to post -- probably better in the long run though so I'm not considered a super stalker.
I spent the rest of the weekend at Dr. D's humble abode and got a lot of quality R&R time. The Oscar's aren't for another 3 weeks but they're already kickin' my booty!
This Everly sweater is seriously the most amazing addition to my closet lately and I've been wearing it non stop. It's super soft and feels like you're wrapped in a cozy blanket all day long!
P.S. I love that "Winter White" is an acceptable thing but "White after Labor Day" isn't? Who makes up these silly fashion rules anyway?
Sweater: c/o Everly // Denim: Old Navy // Booties: Just Fab // Earrings: Francescas // Necklace: Etsy // Spiked Bangles: Sage K and Co // Rings: Handpicked & Pandora // Bag: Michael Kors

Two ladies are being featured this week: Sherry from The Life of the Party and Ariel from Auteur Ariel
Sherry's look is nothing short of fierce and edgy! I'm loving her faux fur vest, killer leopard pumps and a dash of color with her bright studded clutch. She made it feminine with the perfect amount of glitz in her earrings!

Ariel went Bohemian chic with her faux leather pants, slouchy cardigan sweater and heeled booties. I love the spiked necklaces and floppy hat to top it all off, very cute indeed!

Leopard Loafers

Cheers to the Weekend!

Today's post is going to be short and sweet.

I'm going to let y'all in on a little secret ... I tend to procrastinate, A LOT. Dr. D and I were literally doing everything last minute for the big Superbowl party last weekend and in the midst of it all I remembered I hadn't taken these photos for the blog yet.

I grabbed my camera stepped in my apartment hallway ... great area I know ... and told Dr. D this was a game. His challenge you ask? Take some decent photos (especially of my leopard cat loafers), but the catch ... take them with the remaining 3 minutes the pizza knots had to bake.

His response? Challenge accepted. GAME ON!
He caught me in my "cut out the photos" hand gesture
Graphic Tee: Made by Yours Truly // Jacket: Zara // Jeans: Forever 21 // Loafers: Nordstrom Rack

Needless to say the pictures didn't turn out half bad, minus my dreadful hair needing a touch up real bad. So much for trying to hold out for Oscar weekend!

Congrats to Anna Belle for winning a graphic tee of your choice!
Shoot me an email: lifesapartydli@gmail.com and we'll get everything figured out :)

Month in Instagram: January

HUMP DAY!

I can't be the only one a little excited about Wednesday right? My work week has been dragging but I do have my first kickball game of the season tonight so that's something to look forward to! Today is also my 1 year blogging anniversary believe it or not!

So I'm sure you're sitting there wondering where is my outfit post with all of the confetti and balloons? Well kids, unfortunately that isn't coming. I may have started my blog a year ago today but I actually didn't do anything with it until last July/August; therefore, that is when my blogiversary will be celebrated! Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone ...

January was a rather busy month for me but rather than tell you I'll show you:
